Porsche and Manthey Celebrate 25 Years of Collaboration In the Best Way Possible

Porsche and Manthey Racing are commemorating 25 years of collaboration in motorsport. In recognition of this momentous occasion, both Porsche and Manthey have decided to release a special edition of the 911. They will now produce, a limited-run model of 30 examples of the track only, 911 GT2 RS ClubSport 25.
Manthey Racing is a name that is familiar in Porsche circles, especially when it comes to the automaker’s race-spec cars.Manthey was founded 25 years ago in 1996, and Porsche purchased a significant stake in the company back in 2013. The last time we heard of Manthey, whose official ties with Porsche have since deepened, was quite recent.
In June 2021, Porsche promised a Manthey Performance Kit modification package for the 991.2 generation 911 GT2 RS and one of the cars so prepared "swallowed" the Nordschleife in a record time of 6:43 minutes. And now, the two manufacturers have come together to give us yet another special edition, in celebration of their successful partnership.
The 911 GT2 RS ClubSport 25
The 911 GT2 RS ClubSport originally debuted back in 2018. The special edition ClubSport RS 25 is a track-only car and is based on the previous (991) generation of the Porsche 911.
Although it is based on the GT2 ClubSport, this 25th-anniversary edition carries a significant number of modifications and is unlike any other Porsche.
To begin with, the color scheme of the "ClubSport 25" is matte grey with bright green-yellow highlights which is a tribute to Manthey Racing’s racing 911 GT3 R, which retains the nickname GRELLO.
What’s Different on the ClubSport 25?
Manthey Racing has gone to great lengths to improve the performance even further on this special edition, especially in terms of aerodynamics. The aero upgrades include changes on the hood, a front splitter, a modified diffuser, and a giant wing for better downforce. The chassis of the ClubSport 25 is closed and air enters the rear wing via two enormous vents on the hood that transmits it through the roof to that rear wing.
Other upgrades on the ClubSport RS 25 include a revised adjustable racing suspension setup, 18-inch wheels, a carbon-fiber body, headlamps inspired by the 911 RSR GTE, 935-style mirrors, a data logger, and Porsche’s Stability Management system. The interior on this special edition, as with the standard GT2 RS ClubSport, consists of a Recaro bucket seat and a safety roll cage. You get a special plaque, that indicates that this car is a limited edition model. In many ways, the ClubSport RS 25 is a different beast altogether.
As far as the mechanicals are concerned, the Porsche 911 GT2 RS ClubSport 25 produces 690 horsepower from its twin-turbo 3.8-liter flat-six engine. Located behind the rear axle, all this power is put to the ground via Porsche’s seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox.
The radiator, on the other hand, has been centrally positioned to make it more efficient over greater distances (In Endurance Racing) and less susceptible to damage, allowing Porsche to increase airflow to the brake system as well. With all these performance mods, the 911 GT RS ClubSport 25 certainly is one of the craziest 911s around.
The 911 GT2 RS ClubSport 25 will have a rather narrow range of applications, ranging from fun on exclusive track days to perhaps, participation in the GT2 European Series championship, the first season of which began in April this year.
As we mentioned earlier, Porsche will build only 30 of these marvels, six of which are bound for the United States. Porsche is accepting orders for the car only via e-mail, with prices in Europe starting at €525,000 before taxes.
