Blazing Into The Future: GM teases Chevy Blazer EV SS - gallery

GM just put out a short 20-second clip teasing the upcoming Blazer EV

The teaser didn't reveal much aside from the illuminated charging point and the charge door closing electronically

You can also briefly see the two-tone design of the rims on the upcoming SUV with the famed SS Badge

The thing is reviving old name plates can be a tricky business for automakers. Ford got it right with the Bronco, while Chevy really didn't garner much attention with the current model

The Blazer EV along with the Equinox showcased at CES 2022 are part of GM's $35 billion strategy to electrify their entire lineup by 2040

GM already sells EV's like the Bolt EV, EUV, Cadillac Lyriq and you've got the models like the Hummer EV SUV and pickup also in the works

Both the Equinox and the Blazer EVs will be underpinned by GM's Ultimum battery Tech

The Blazer EV SS will be unveiled later this year and will go on sale in spring next year. It will take on the likes of the Ford Mustang Mach-E and the Tesla Model Y. Watch this space.
